The North Bethany Beach Patrol is a professional, team oriented lifeguard service consisting of private oceanfront developments located within the pituresque and affluent community of North Bethany Beach, Delaware. The North Bethany Beach Patrol is one of the few privately owned and operated lifeguard services in the United States and can trace its roots back to the mid 1990's when some of the first communities in North Bethany realized the need to have lifeguards protecting their beaches. Then in 2006 as more and more communities saw the benefit of having lifeguard services the North Bethany Beach Patrol was born and given its name by founder and parent company Aquatic-Marine, LLC to reflect the individual communities, that together, make up the beach patrol. Today the North Bethany Beach Patrol operates with an average staff compliment of 20 lifeguards who come from all walks of life but all with the same mission of protecting our beach communities with professionalism and courtesy. Job Information and Requirements
The North Bethany Beach Patrol requires its lifeguards to be mature, team-oriented men and women capable of handling a variety of situations in sometimes adverse conditions with competence and professionalism. Beach Lifeguards are required to have current American Red Cross Certification in Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR-AED for Lifeguards and meet rigorous physical fitness standards. All applicants are required to pass a beach test consisting of a quarter mile soft sand run followed by a quarter mile ocean swim in a combined time of 9 minutes or less. Applicants not residing within the immediate area may submit a video link of a simulated beach test demonstrating their ability to complete the run/swim requirement by running a quarter mile on the inner most lane of a standard track and swimming 18 lengths of 25 yard pool or 16 lengths of a 25 meter pool in a combined time of 9 minutes or less. All new hires must still take and pass the actual beach test as a condition of employment but the run/swim video will suffice for application purposes. New employees must also pass a probationary period and are subject to drug screening.

Position Summary: The Beach Lifeguard will provide for the safety and well-being of all beach patrons.
Job Responsibilities: Maintains excellent community relations, enforces rules and regulations, provides emergency medical assistance, performs surf rescue operations, maintains excellent fitness standards by participating in daily workouts, maintains all beach patrol equipment, writes incident reports and performs other duties as assigned.
